Confirmation of the Biff Complex

Dear Doctor, I am writing to inform you that during my five years of participation/observer on the social media site Facebook I have been able to confirm your hypothesis about the existence of the Biff Complex. My participation/ observations over the last several years have been able to replicate your study and confirm its conclusions, namely, that many right wingers, particularly the descendants of Gerald Smith and his anti-Semitic and anti-commie ideologies and the John Birch Society, the group that once preached the gospel that Dwight Eisenhower was a communist stooge, who have taken over the Republican party, do indeed have the malady identified by you in the 1980s and to which you gave the name the Biff Complex or Disorder.

This Complex, as you know, has several components to it. First, those who suffer from the Biff Complex suffer from an irrational fear of empirical facts. Second, those who suffer from it confuse and conflate right wing fantasies and delusions with empirical reality. Third, those who suffer from it mistake authoritarian fifth grade bully boy behavior for a reasoned and empirical argument. Finally, those who suffer from the Biff Complex live in a lala world of their own and are impervious to anything but the fantastic and delusional discourse of right wing demagogues.

Conclusions? To paraphrase Giles the earth is doomed.
